The next Adventure

Hey Adventurers!

So I have opened a wonderful new chapter in my life! It sadly requires a small break in traveling. I will still be going to Nepal in March, but that will be the last one for a while. Two major changes I will be making in the next few months: Starting a business and running for office. I am looking in to opening a business in Oswego, NY and in the meantime I am helping to start an Oswego County Chapter of the Libertarian Party and in 2018 will be running for New York State Assembly in the 120th District. I will still do a lot of traveling as that is and will always be one of my biggest passions in life. I will be blogging through this whole process and if you want to help me out and come to the shop or vote for me, that would be awesome! I apologize if the blog becomes too political at times, but it will be slightly necessary. Please don't stop messaging me and commenting on my posts! I love hearing from you guys!

Until next time,

See you on the road!

Two Weeks 'Till I'm on the Road

Hey Adventurers!
So I'm getting pretty stir crazy here and I can not wait to be on the road again. This time the destination is Los Angeles and I leave in two weeks! I'm so excited, but so nervous. I've been procrastinating so much with this trip I kind of hate myself. I will be okay though. I usually end up flying by the seat of my pants no matter how much planning I do. I'm hopping that this trip won't be a loner trip, finally. I am in the process of getting things together so that my girlfriend can come with me. It'll be a struggle, but I'm hopeful. Thank you so much for your support. I love hearing from my readers and my followers so please keep it up. I will be keeping you guys posted as always especially when I finally have something interesting to post about. Also I love hearing about your adventures both past and present. If you have a funny travel story, please share in the comments or private message me on any of my many social media accounts.
Until next time,
I'll see you on the road.

Planning New Adventures

Hey Adventurers,
Well today was day six of my workout challenge, but more importantly than that I made a new friend today! His name is Nathan Thomas and he is a missionary to Nepal. He owns an english school there and also does a lot of work with an orphanage nearby. Him and I were able to discuss a lot about his ministry before and after the church service and I was delighted to discover that he was, in fact, recruiting people to go on short terms missions trips to help him out. How awesome is that? The dates and specifics are still up in the air, but it will most likely be sometime this march. I will be working mostly with children and young adults teaching english and music. Teaching, music, kids, and travel? All together? Count me in! It will be such a blessing to share my gift in music with others and raise awareness for this great cause. I am so excited! As I said earlier, however, there are still some kinks to work out so I will keep you all updated as more decisions are made. I'm still doing some final planning on my Los Angeles trip as well so I will make sure to keep you guys in the loop.

But until then,
I'll see you on the road.

Day Three of Thirty

Hey Adventurers!
It's day three now of my thirty day workout challenges! The exercising isn't that hard it's mostly remembering to actually do it. I'm adding the challenges to the end of this post so if you guys want to, you can join in. I know that staying healthy while you travel can be extremely difficult and so I want to take advantage of the time off that I have to not only raise money, but to also get back into a healthy lifestyle. I believe that it will be a lot easier to keep healthy habits on the road once I've ingrained them into my schedule here at home. I encourage everyone to join me or maybe just pick one of the four and do that one. I will probably do a video every five days or so and try to keep you all updated on my progress.
Until then, I'll see you on the road (or maybe the gym)

Home sweet home

Hey adventurers!
Well I'm home! Back in good ol' Syracuse. I've been home alone all week so that was really weird, but it's so great to be back in my own home. Not sure how long I'll be here this time. It will probably be longer than I want it to be, but money is a real thing and I need to earn some more of it before I can go out on another adventure. I'm planing a trip to Los Angeles and I'm going to actually plan this trip out better than the last one. I'll take a few weeks to organize places to stop and places to stay while I get a few more paychecks and then head out once more. Once again, any insight or advice is much appreciated as well as a simple like and share. If you enjoy what you read and see then please tell your friends about me!
Until next time,
I'll see you on the road!

Camp So Far

Greeting Adventurers,
I have been at camp for a little over five weeks now and it has been amazing. I hate not traveling and being stuck in one place for so long, but it is still an extreme adventure. I have been meeting so many people and I have been so busy I almost forgot to tell you all about it. I am the waterfront director at this camp so pretty much everything I do during the day revolves around the water, but once the pool and pond close my I am free to do all the crazy things I want. This includes zip lining, night swimming, huge dodge ball games, cooking over an open fire, and just running around like a crazy person doing whatever my director tells me to do. I will be posting a few videos in the near future about my time here and with the added free time i will have for the next few days I will be doing my best to update my blog more often. Don't forget to message me or comment about fun adventures that you've had. Until next time, I'll see you on the road.

Getting to Know You

Hey Adventurers! I'm sitting here starting the packing process (my least favorite part of travel) and I was letting my mind wander which is never really a good thing, but I have become intrigued by the mystery audience that I have accumulated. I have 201 pageviews from 5 different countries and although in the blogging world that is a small number, I am curious who you people are. I get set to leave for camp this friday and while I am there I will have a decent amount of free time at night and I intend to use most of it planning out my next trip, but I also want to get to know the readers. I want to know what you want to see, how I can make my blog posts and videos better, suggestions for when I come to your area, and even just random stuff about yourself. The easiest ways to reach me are Twitter and Instagram and I am also creating a Facebook page tonight. Please feel free to ask me anything or to tell me anything. I do not judge and I am a firm believer that the only stupid questions are those left unasked.

As pieces of my next trip fall into place I will be keeping you all updated. It will be a full trip to Los Angeles and back by car so it should be interesting, but I am prepared. I am also starting to struggle with the travel vs. get a full time job dilemma and any advice/encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Until next time, I'll see you on the road!

Support

Hey adventurers! So like I said before I will be working at a small summer camp this summer. I will be gone for a little over 2 months (June 24th-September 1st) and I really can't wait. It is a really awesome camp on Western New York that I went to as a camper since 4th grade and I have been on staff since 2011. The ministry work we do there is some of the greatest I've ever witnessed which is why I am asking you to partner with us. There are so many ways for you to get involved! If you live near us or know someone who does, you can always help by spreading the word. Also we have a prayer team that is always in need of new member and of course we accept monetary donations. Now before you dismiss this as me just begging for money, let me tell you where it all goes. The first amount of money I raise goes to offset my paycheck freeing up money for the camp to do other things and then once I have raised that money, the rest can be delegated as I choose. It can go to projects around camp such as finishing a zipline that we are putting in or getting new pool equipment, or it can go to a camper who can't afford to pay for camp, or it can go into the general fund and used as our wonderful director Sam sees fit. If you would like more information about the camp or how you can help out, please Email me at Davide.fite4@gmail.com you can also check out the website http://camphickoryhill.org

There will soon be more posts about camp life as well as some videos on youtube. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and my personal favorite comment! I love hearing from people that read my blog. It's really what keeps me going. Until next time, stay safe and I'll see you on the road!

WSI Course

Today I leave for Buffalo to take my Water Safety Instructor course.  I will be there for about a week and a half staying at my camp and driving to the course every other day. I'm really excited, because I have wanted to get this certification for a very long time, but I also haven't actively swam in a while so I am pretty nervous. I'll be helping get camp ready for summer on my days off from class and I can't wait. It's not as exciting as France or even California, but it will be a nice mini adventure to get me back in the swing of things. Wish me luck and I'll see you on the road.

Taking a break

Hey guys! So I've taken some time off from traveling and I unfortunately had to cut my trip to California short. I made it as far as Indianapolis and had to come back home. I will be working over the summer and resuming my traveling in late August. The adventures, however, have not and will not stop. I am helping to take care of a six month old baby, so that's pretty exciting, and also I will be working at a summer camp full of craziness and excitement all summer. I will continue to update you, my fellow adventurers as time goes on. This break will also help me to better plan out my trips which I will also be reporting on as the planning process continues. Feel free to message me on instagram or twitter with helpful ideas of things to do while I'm in your neck of the woods. I will also do my best to continue the youtube vlog with my hometown adventures and packing tips. Thanks for reading! I'll see you on the road.

Cedarville

So I am spending tonight in Cedarville, Ohio. You've probably never heard of it before, but it's a small college town between Columbus and Dayton. I went to school here in the fall of 2014, but left due to personal reasons. It is one of the greatest places I have ever been and it feels so amazing to be back here. I'm going to a class with my friend in the morning and the chapel and I cannot wait. So blessed to have been able to maintain the long distance friendship so I can come back and feel like I never left. It was a long day of driving to get here so I am very happy that tomorrow will only contain about 5 hours of car time. I'll be in Chicago before I know it. Goodnight and I'll see you on the road.

First vlog is online!

Very early this morning I finished the editing for my first travel vlog! WOHOO! It was definitely a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, but also so worth it. I honestly think I love it so much because I can finally live my dream of living through a montage. I sent the video to my sister who was a video communications major in college for the approval at about 5am and then posted it as soon as I made the changes she told me to. I feel like the rest of the videos are going to be a bit harder, because I am going to be a stranger to where I am visiting and I'm not really going to know what I want to film ahead of time, but that's all part of the fun. The next stop on my adventure is Cedarville, Ohio and I have about two days to get there so I will be making a lot of stops and detours. So definatly go check out the new video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD7JQeKGeww and don't forget to like and share. As always thank you for reading and I will see you on the road.

New York, New York

Greeting from New York City! Although it is my home I realized that there are a lot of awesome touristy things that I haven't done here yet. I also could use the practice so here goes. New York City is like a bunch of small cities all clumped together and everything changes between seven and nine at night so there is never a shortage of things to do around here. I am going to start with the basics: Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, and Wall Street. These are all very popular places to for tourists, but even as a New Yorker I love going here. The bright lights and all the excitement remind me why I wanted to more to the city. I also really enjoy visiting some of the smaller and lesser known places such as Bleeker St, Williamsburg, Little Italy, and SOHO. I will be posting a video to my youtube channel hopefully tomorrow showing all the awesome stuff I love in the city. Also I got really great news this morning from one of my favorite humans on the planet, my old boss, Sam Richbart. He runs an amazing summer camp near Buffalo, NY and he asked me to be his waterfront director this summer! So I will be taking about two months off from traveling to work there and then getting back on a plane to who knows where. I can't wait. So don't forget to check out my video at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsz89yH4kbC0JOGE89cNKsg and also like, comment, and share everything. See you on the road.

Breaking Free

As a get set to go on my second leg of my trip I'm sitting here thinking about my first leg. It was kind of an experiment leg down to South Carolina. It was great! I broke my phone, got lost(a few times), got my car towed, got two parking tickets, and had one of the people I was going to stay with cancel, but it was still awesome. I got to be behind the wheel, down south, seeing friends, blasting music, it was incredible. Although I am still questioning my decision slightly, the joy I had on that trip proved this was the right choice. I heard a quote last night that summed up what I am feeling quite well. It said "If I wasn't making a challenging decision, it probably wasn't the right one."-Christian LeBlanc. All my life I have wanted to be famous, to be great. I have never really had an average dream. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be a rockstar, an actor, a CEO, a WWE wrestler, a NFL player, a lawyer, or even the president, but I was way too ADHD and lazy to put in the work I needed to be great. Now I am starting my adventure and all I hear is "How are you going to make money?", "You're never going to make it.", and "You're crazy!" and now I finally understand. You don't have to be amazing at football to be great at life. All you have to do is be crazy enough to step out of your comfort zone and do what you love. If I somehow become famous because of this, that would be awesome. If only 5 people read my blog and one of them decides to do it too, that would be awesome. If literally no one knows I'm doing this and it's just for me? Still awesome. I am sick of living in fear of fitting in. Today is the day I break free and I will take as many of you with me as I can.

I do also have a twitter and an instagram that I will be posting on more regularly, as well as a Youtube channel on the way. I did also start a go fund me account so any help or spreading the word would be appreciated. Thanks for reading! See you soon.

Pilot: My Crazy Adventure

Hi my name is David Fite and this is the ongoing story of my crazy life.

A little bit of a backstory:
Since I graduated from high school in June of 2014 i have attended two colleges, moved seven times, held fourteen jobs, and been engaged. Needless to say I am a constantly changing, usually unstable person. The greatest lesson I have learned from all of that is to always be down for whatever. Originally I was in it all for the money. I wanted to get the most money in the shortest amount of time, but I'm slowly realizing that experiences are worth more than money.  So last friday I quit my job on Wall Street went to my parents' house for Easter and decided that I was going to drive....just drive. It has always been my life goal to go to every country in the world and all 50 states in the USA. So now me, 19 years old and without really any commitments has set out to achieve that goal. This blog will act as my journal, my travel guide, and a way that my experiences can live and hopefully inspire. So greetings, friends and welcome to the craziest journey of your life.
